This was a fun one, I had injuries in my achilles (left) and my inner hip (right) leading up to this race. I rested the week leading up to the race, and then on Friday felt much better. I am glad I ran the race. It felt good and was a fun challenge. In hindsight I would have prepared more for the trail run, but all in all, it was a GREAT Race
Look at this monster climb in the middle, fun and challenging. I did follow my strategy of coming out strong out of the gate, note my first mile pace was 7:25 with mile 8 being 12:39 (this included some walking up the hill) with a max elevation of 1,692. I was happy with my avg heart rate of 170 bpm and a max of 184 bpm.
As always lots of much better runners than me out there, but I am happy with my results
It was great to meet with Scott and Lisa and start the race with Scott. He killed it with something like a 1:40
