Well, its getting so close I can almost taste it. One week to go until my Thesis is due, and two weeks until final presentations to the faculty. As you can tell from this post (3:49am) its been another late night. Its been an exciting learning adventure from my first three day sequestered weekend to now. I still remember coming home after that three day weekend with a stack of books and falling onto the living room floor. I told Amy I wasn’t up for the challenge, and was going to quit. Amy gave me her usual good advice, sleep on it, and then make a decision.
As usual Amy was right, and the journey to my MBA has been an amazing experience. We started with 20 classmates and will be finishing with 14. I have learned so much from this experience both academically and from my peers. The International trip was so powerful, and an eye opening experience. I am so excited for graduation on April 18th and cannot believe I am almost there.
Onward and upward
A special tribute to an amazing man Jim the poolman who died today. Jim was a great man.
Happy New Year. It was good to close the books on 2008. Not neccesarily a steller year from a financial perspective, but it could have been much worse. I have learned over the years to count my blessings, and for that I am thankful for all the wonderful things I do have.
I had a great trip visiting the MeziMedia Shanghai office in early January. We have several large projects to accomplish this year as a team, and the in-person meeting was invaluable. Also just completed our PKE weekend in Palm Springs. Amy, Jack, and Lauren came with me and we had a mini-vacation / school weekend. Only 4 more weekendsto go until Graduation (April 19).
See Shanghai Asia Summary for all the details.

We had a wonderful Christmas spending Christmas eve here at our house with Nana Sally, Greg, and John. We all went to mass at St Max’s and then had a nice dinner here at the house. Amy made a very good Shrimp Scampi receipe. On Christmas day Santa delivered for the kids with Old school Big Wheels and a GIANT doll house for Lauren. We went down to San Diego to have Christmas dinner with my Dad, Michele, and Bridget. It was a fun day. The next day we headed down to the hotel Del in Coronado. We picked up a few ornaments from the hotel Del. It was one of my Mom’s favorite places.

Happy Birthday to my little girl who seems to be growing up so fast. It seems like time just flies by so fast. It seemed like only yesterday when I saw Lauren coming into this world. I will never forget the pure emotion seeing her the first time. It was love at first sight
We had an really fun Thanksgiving in Bodega Bay. The Hughes, Cabes and Luthman’s hosted the four day weekend. It was so much fun and such a beautiful place. The northern California coastline is so beautiful with rolling green hills like Ireland. The ocean was beautiful with large pounding waves and a very rocky coastline. The sunsets were beautiful and the fog layer in combination with the Sunset was a sight to see.
The kids had a great time enjoying time with their cousins. I am truly grateful for such a wonderful family.
The sunsets were so beautiful at Bodega Bay with the air turning crisp and cool
within such a short time.
“Life has taught us that love does not consist in gazing at each other but in looking outward in the same direction.”
My heart is heavy and I feel so sad for my PKE brother Tom Herring during this time of loss.
God didn’t promise days without pain, laughter without sorrow, sun without rain, but He did promise strength for the day, comfort for the tears, and light for the way.
Prayer of St. Francis of Assisi
Lord, make me an instrument of Your Peace;
Where there is hatred, let me sow Love;
Where there is injury, pardon;
Where there is doubt, faith;
Where there is despair, hope;
Where there is darkness, light;
Where there is sadness, joy.
O Divine Master, grant that I may seek not so much to be consoled, as to console;
to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love;
for it is in giving that we receive;
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
and it is in dying that we are born to Eternal Life. Amen.
We had such a great weekend studying the law school at Pepperdine. Rick raised the bar as the host of the weekend. Outside of studying Marketing we were able to attend a “mock trial” provided by the Pepperdine law students. We had a nice evening at teh President of Pepperdine’s house, and was able to see a show. Throughly Modern Mille.
Rick provided and excellent blog for the weekend not missing a detail. We are all happy we are away from school until January, but have plenty of work before then.
